Factor (a mathematical term) and aspect (a geometrical term) are enormously overused in essays, usually as a replacement for the less sophisticated (but more honest) "things".
Do not use the words unless they really are the only ones that fit. First consider what you really mean "these factors contribute to" often mean no more than "These things I just mentioned". So, instead of factor, choose one or two of the things you have in mind and use it - even at the risk of repetition.
